Anna Eisler
PhD, Associate Professor
Main research interests
The general domain of interest is in perception, psychophysics, cognition, neuropsychology, social-, and cross-cultural psychology. A main research theme is time perception, focused on phylogenetic and ontogenetic approaches. More specifically are studied cognitive and biological factors in time perception, time perception in children, influence of age, gender, personality and culture on time perception, time perception in schizophrenics and in individuals with neurological impairment. Cross-cultural studies involve risk perception, human ecology, the perception of vulnerability, suicide and suicidal behavior. The psychological methods are supplemented by methods of social anthropology. Generally, much of the research and theory building is psychophysical, cognitive, and culture-specific.
