Fredrik Jönsson

PhD, Associate professor

Teaching

I have taught and administered courses on a regular basis since 2000. The main topics of the courses I have led and taught in have been Psychological testing (course leader), Perception (course leader), Introductory psychology (course leader), cognitive psychology and statistics.

Research

My ongoing research can be divided into two broad themes: (A) metacognition and (B) olfactory cognition.

A. Metacognition and learning

I am interested in the conscious monitoring (metamemory) of our own learning, both in the form of assessments of how easy or difficult something would be to learn (ease of learning judgments) and our assessments of our ongoing learning (Judgments of learning).

Research group: Memory and Metacognition Lab

B. Olfactory cognition

In studying olfaction (the sense of smell) I am mainly focusing on olfactory cognition and more specifically, but not exclusively, odor memory in the long and the short term.
