PhD Student
I was admitted to Stockholm University as a PhD student in January 2008. Here I am leading a research project that examines behavioral patterns among rapists from crime scene characteristics and the possibility of predicting recidivism.
I have previously studied at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York, where I received a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Forensic Psychology in February 2006. In the year of 2005, I was also part of an American research project cooperating with the FBI, where police files of serial rapists and serial homicide offenders were used in research in order to enhance knowledge that can be used in investigative work. These police files also laid the foudation for my master's thesis, where I examined behavioral consistency in crime scene behaviors among serial homicide offenders.
Research
My research concerns the field of offender profiling and particularly focuses on behavioral consistency among homicide offenders and sex offenders. I am interested in offenders' crime scene behaviors and background characteristics and the possibility of using this information to study crime development, classify offenders, and predict future recidivism. The goal with my research is to be able to provide knowledge that can be useful in investigative work.
My PhD dissertation will include three studies examining behavioral consistency in rapists and the possibility of classifying offenders as well as predicting recidivism.
