Karin Påhlsson
BA, Administrative Assistant
My work is divided into two areas: general administration for the department and educational administration for the Psychotherapy Clinic.
My duties in the first area include things such as updating various annual lists and being contact person between the department and the Division of IT and media at Stockholm University. One of my responsibilities is keeping a correct record of the information about the department's staff in the university's web catalogue (SUKAT). This means that newcomers will find me rather quickly.
I am also a person to have in mind when it comes to language, how to convey a certain message in a clear and non-fuzzy way is one of my specialties, in both Swedish and English. Whenever people let me in on this, I'm on high. That includes correcting details, too. All those tiny issues the computer is unable to solve.
Miscellaneous
In my spare time, I'm a poet and a singer. In the '70s and '80s, I took singing lessons for 8 years. In those days I was a member of a church choir. Music is a very large part of my life. Almost every Saturday evening, I listen to the opera night on the radio, especially the Met's radio broadcasts. But I also love to shake my kitchen or make it rock to the fabulous music of the '60s, above all.
My poetry has finally found a way to the public, i.e. the web public. Check out these links: PoetBay.com, argus.nu and Poeter.se, where you will find me as "Caprice" or "Caprice!", respectively. For poems or songs in English, go back to 2004 and 2005.
A few years ago, I received the glorious title of Court Poet here at the department. Which I am very proud of. Also, some of my poems have found their way to our local Newsletter.
